I started Generator Savvy because I kept running into the same problem: generator advice online was either buried in spec sheets or so vague it didn't help when the power was actually out.

I'm the kind of person who researches gear properly before buying it. With generators that meant reading owner's manuals, the safety guidance from groups like the CPSC and NFPA, and a lot of forum threads from RV owners and homeowners who had already made the mistakes.

I'm not a licensed electrician or gas fitter, and I don't pretend to be. When something like a transfer switch or a permanent propane line needs a pro, I say so and explain what the job involves so you can plan it and ask the right questions.
